Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Set It Up Right
2FA blocks most account takeovers even when passwords leak. Ten minutes of setup protects years of photos, money and chats.
- 1. Install an authenticator app: Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or Authy - any reputable one works.
- 2. Enable 2-Step on Google: myaccount.google.com > Security > 2-Step Verification, scan the QR with the app.
- 3. Enable on Facebook: Settings > Accounts Centre > Password and security > Two-factor authentication.
- 4. Save backup codes: Print or write the 8-digit backup codes and store at home - lost phones lock you out otherwise.
