Speed matters: the intruder will try to change your email, password and 2FA. Use official recovery from your usual device and never pay 'recovery hackers'.
Steps
1Start official recovery now
Go to facebook.com/hacked on a device you used before and follow the steps.
2Secure the email first
If the same password was reused, change your email password immediately - otherwise the hacker re-takes Facebook.
3Remove unknown sessions and apps
Settings > Accounts Centre > Password and security: log out unknown devices and remove suspicious apps.
4Enable 2FA with an app
Authenticator-app 2FA survives SIM-swap attacks that SMS 2FA does not.
5Warn friends
Post that your account was compromised so friends ignore loan or recharge requests.
Good to know: Anyone demanding money, gift cards or citizenship photos to 'recover' your account is a scammer - including fake support pages.
FAQ
How did they get in?
Usually a phishing login page, a reused leaked password, or a 'login to win' scam app.
