Chart School: Candles, Patterns & SMC
Interactive candle charts, 22 patterns, SMC concepts and a quiz. Sample data.
Read any single day: who won, buyers or sellers.
HammerBullish
After a fall, price drops hard inside the day but buyers push it back up near the open. Small body on top, long lower wick (2x body). Means sellers tried and failed.
Confirm first: Next candle closes above the hammer high, ideally with bigger volume.
Candlesticks Part 1: Read Any Chart in 10 Minutes
Every candle answers one question: who won this period, buyers or sellers? Green body means price closed higher than it opened; red means lower. The body shows conviction, the wicks show rejection.
Open the interactive Chart School tool on this page: tab 1 draws candle anatomy, tab 2 shows every pattern as a live chart, tab 3 quizzes you.
- 1. Read the body first: Big body = strong conviction. Small body = hesitation. Ignore wicks until you can read bodies fluently.
- 2. Read wicks second: A long lower wick means sellers pushed down but buyers dragged price back - rejection of low prices. Long upper wick is the mirror.
- 3. Apply the 3 rules: Bodies over hopes. Next candle confirms. Candles at support/resistance count 10x more than mid-range candles.
- 4. Practise in the tool: Open tab 1 above, then flip through the 8 single-candle patterns in tab 2 (Candles group) and say each name aloud before checking.
How to use this tool (3 steps)
- Start with tab 1 to learn candle anatomy.
- Open tab 2 and flip through patterns group by group.
- Take the quiz in tab 3 - then practise on live charts without money.
