GPA System in Nepal: How CGPA Really Works
Nepali universities use a 4.0 scale where each grade carries points multiplied by credit hours. Knowing the math helps you target the right subjects for improvement.
- 1. Learn the grade points: A+ = 4.0 down to D = 1.0 in most 4.0 systems. Confirm your university's exact table - they differ slightly.
- 2. Calculate semester GPA: Multiply each subject's grade point by its credit hours, sum, and divide by total credits. Use the GPA tool on this site.
- 3. Know what CGPA needs: CGPA is the credit-weighted average across semesters - early semesters count as much as later ones.
- 4. Target high-credit weak subjects: Improving a 3-credit C to B moves GPA more than perfecting a 1-credit lab.
