How to Check Internet Speed in Nepal (Right Way)

Test download, upload and ping correctly - one device, near router, no downloads running.

A

Try it right here:

Measures real download speed via Cloudflare edge. Close other apps first. No data leaves your browser except the test download itself.

A speed test only means something done right: single device, next to the router, everything else paused. Otherwise you measure Wi-Fi congestion, not your line.

Steps

  1. 1Prepare one device

Stop YouTube, TikTok, downloads and cloud backup on ALL devices. Use a phone or laptop within 3 meters of the router.

  2. 2Run the speed tool

Use the Internet Speed Test tool on this site (or fast.com). Note download Mbps, upload Mbps and ping.

  3. 3Test twice daily

Once morning, once 8-10 PM. Evening drops are normal on shared lines - compare both before judging.

  4. 4Compare cable vs Wi-Fi

If possible, test with a LAN cable. Full speed on cable but slow Wi-Fi means fix placement, not the plan.

Good to know: Screenshot results with date and time. ISP support acts far faster on evidence than on 'internet slow'.

FAQ

What speed do I need?

25 Mbps handles 4K + classes together. Gaming cares about ping under 60ms more than big Mbps.
