How to Send Money with eSewa (Step by Step)
Send money to any eSewa user safely: checking names, confirming amounts and saving receipts.
By DigitalNepal · Updated 2026-10-04
Sending money on eSewa takes under a minute once your wallet is loaded and your PIN is set. The golden rule: the receiver's name shown on the confirm screen must match the real person.
Steps
1Open Send Money
Log into the official eSewa app and tap Send Money on the home screen.
2Enter the receiver number
Type the mobile number carefully. The app shows the account holder's name - stop if it is unfamiliar.
3Enter amount and purpose
Type the amount, add a remark like 'lunch' so both sides can identify it later.
4Confirm and enter PIN
Review number, name and amount once more, then approve with your PIN or biometrics.
5Save the receipt
Screenshot the success screen with the transaction ID until the receiver confirms.
Good to know: eSewa staff never ask for your PIN or OTP. Anyone who does - even claiming a failed transaction - is a scammer.
