Render services get custom domains via CNAME verification plus automatic certificates.
Steps
1Add custom domain
Service > Settings > Custom Domains > Add. Copy the verification target Render shows.
2Create the DNS record
CNAME host to the Render target at your registrar/DNS provider.
3Wait for certificate
Render provisions TLS after verification. This can take up to tens of minutes.
4Update app URLs
Set FRONTEND_URL and CORS origins to the custom domain so logins and links work.
Good to know: Free services sleep: first visits after idle take ~a minute. That's hosting, not DNS.
FAQ
API calls fail from site?
CORS: the backend must allow the exact custom-domain origin including https.
